Wendy's Ghost Pepper Fries

Wendy's has launched a new variety of French fries called Ghost Pepper Fries. The friest used a special ghost pepper sauce to add a spicy flavor. They other ingredients include cheese sauce, diced jalapenos and shredded cheddar cheese.

The Ghost Pepper Fries will be available for a limited time. They cost $1.99.

Ghost peppers (bhut jolokia) are known for being one of the hottest peppers. They rank at 855,000 to 1,041,427 Scoville heat units which is much, much higher than a jalapeno.

A Fast Company article explains how Wendy's made the hot pepper safe for Americans. The trick is that they don't contain a lot of the extremely hot ghost pepper ingredient.

Here's a video review of the new fries from Peep This Out.
