Withings Thermo

Withings unveiled its new Wi-FI connected temporal thermometer called WiThings Thermo at 2016 CES. The thermometer features a 16-sensor array for taking a person's temperature. Thermo is pointed at a person's temple to get a reading.

Thermo measures the temperature from the temporal artery at the side of head. Withings says its device takes 4,000 measurements in 2 seconds and automatically corrects for biases such as skin heat loss and ambient temperature. A vibration tells the user when the measurement is complete. The temperature is displayed on Thermo's LED display in either Celsius and Fahrenheit.

Thermo comes with an app that can maintain data for up to eight different users. Through the app Thermo can send temperature data to your smartphone or tablet.

The device requires two AAA size batteries. The MSRP is $99.95.

Update 6-13-16: Withings recently announced that the device should be available by the end of Q2 2016. That would mean by the end of this month (June 2016). The Thermo page still lists the price as $99.95.

CNET's Andrew Gebhrat took at reading with the device at the Withing's booth. Take a look:
