Woman Raises Baby Kangaroo Named Skippy

Posted on July 25, 2009

Christina Cooper, a manager at the Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, La., has been raising a baby kangaroo named Skippy the Kangaroo since he was unexpectedly abandoned by his mother. She told Maggie Rodriguez and Harry Smith on the CBS Early Show that she has been able to get help from Lynda Stalker, the author of a book about taking care of macropods.

Christina Cooper has been using a canvas carryall as a makeshift pouch. A CBS News article about the baby kangaroo says the kangaroo will stay in the makeshift pouch for another six to seven months. The little kangaroo sure is calm during the interview.
