Woman Suing MAC Cosmetics For Allegedly Giving Her Herpes-Infected Lipstick at a Rihanna Concert

A woman is suing Mac Cosmetics claiming that she got a severe case of Herpes Simplex after being given a contaminated sample of RiRi Woo lipstick at a Rihanna concert.

Harlem resident Starkeema Greenidge, 28, attended the Rihanna concert on May 7th at the Barclays Center. Starkeema visited the official Mac pop up shop at the concert where they were handing out free sample tubes of the lipstick for which Rihanna is the spokesperson. Starkeema says she was given a small sample tube of the lipstick, but instead of being given a new, unused tube, the sales clerk chose to give her "one that had been used for other patrons." Two days later she had a huge outbreak of blisters and sores on her lips which her doctor diagnosed as oral herpes.

Starkeema is a waitress who was forced to miss work for two weeks due to the unsightly outbreak. She says she is suing to force Mac to follow strict hygiene rules for makeup samples in the future. She told the New York Daily News, "This is going to happen over and over again if nothing is done.

Never, never, ever put used cosmetics on your skin, face or lips. Samples must be unopened and secure. We have to wonder who was working the pop ups stores at Mac that night. We're guessing it wasn't the regular sales people, who are fully aware of hygiene requirements.
