Balenciaga Fall 2009 RTW Show at Paris Fashion Week

Nicolas Ghesquiere's Balenciaga fall 2009 ready to wear show in Paris was bold and very French. Ghesquiere said that was one reason he decided to show his collection at the legendary Hotel de Crillon: he said that the collection is very French and decidedly not high tech.

The color palette was based on black and silver. Embroidery and draping were key, as were the defined shoulders. The dresses which looked like they used print fabrics were actually embroidered.

Ghesquiere said he reached back into the archives and worked with an Indian influence with the new sari pants and the luxurious look of yards and yards of satin draping. Take a look:
