Earthenware Cookie Jar Resembles Delicious Red Apple

This is an earthenware apple cookie jar. It is called an Apple Canister by Crate and Barrel, the exclusive retailer of the jar. The jar is made in the shape of an apple. The stem is the handle of the lid. The canister is hand-painted and made in Portugal.

There is some irony in reaching into a container resembling a healthy red apple to get a delicious sugary cookie, but that's life. The item comes in two sizes, small and large. The small has a six inch diameter and the larger canister measures 9 inches in diameter.
