Asus Announces ZenBook 3 at Computex 2016

Asus unveiled its its latest ZenBook, the ZenBook 3, at Computex 2016. Asus also unveiled its Zenbo robot at the same conference. The new ZenBook has an 11.9mm chassis and weighs just 910 grams.

ZenBook 3 was made with a premium aluminum alloy. Asus says the alloy is 50% stronger than the standard alloy used in laptops. The 12.5-inch display used Corning Gorilla Glass 4. A slim bezel design provides an 82% screen-to-body ratio.

ZenBook 3 can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of 2133MHz RAM and up to a 1TB hard drive. Other specs include a USB Type-C port, quad-speaker audio by Harman Kardon, backlit keyboard and the world's thinnest fan design at just 3mm. It also has a built-in fingerprint reader with Windows Hello support for one-touch access. ZenBook 3 provides up to 9 hours of battery life.

It will be available in three colors: Royal Blue, Rose Gold and Quartz Grey. Engadget says pricing for the ZenBook 3 will start at $999 for an i5, 4GB RAM and 256GB SSD configuration. The Core i7, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD will cost $1,999. A release date has not yet been announced.
