Bear Grylls Launches Insect Protein Bars

Posted on October 13, 2018

Adventurer Bear Grylls has collaborated with Tobar to launch a line of insect powder bars. The bars will first be available in Europe.

Triradar reports that the bars use an insect powder made from buffalo worms. The worms are grown on insect farms locaed in Europe.

The bars will come in a variety of flavors including apricot, cranberry, chia, dark chocolate, orange, apple, caramel and cinnamon. It is not known when or if the bars will be available in the U.S.

Bear Grylls tweeted about the new bars. He says, "Many people told us we were mad to make 'planet-positive protein bars' made from insects... time will tell, but what I do know is that we always try to follow the path less trodden, and that insects are among the leanest form of protein out there.."

Grylls also shared a large image of the bar on his Instagram.
