Company 3D Prints Custom LEGO Minifigure Heads Using Your Photos
Posted on June 9, 2016
You can have your own head made into a LEGO minifigure. The little heads are 3D printed. They have a 5mm diameter hole in the neck so they will fit onto a minifigure.
The company making the mini figure heads is called Funky 3D Faces. They have many more examples of their work on the site in the gallery. The company is based in London.
The company needs two photographs to make your custom minifigure head. One of the photos is a front view and the other photograph is a sideview. They have special instructions for the photographs - such as no glasses and no open mouth.
The company converts the 2D photos into 3D using its custom software. They then use full color 3D printers to create the minifigure heads. The figures are 3D printed in a sandstone material. Discounts are available on purchases of multiple heads.
Here's a video that show how it works.
