Amazon Launches Echo Show 5

Amazon has announced the launch of its latest Echo device, the Echo Show 5. The new smart video speaker has a 5.5-inch display. The camera can easily be turned on or off using the camera shutter. This makes it easy to block the camera when it is not in use.

Amazon says some of the uses of the device through its Alexa connection include on-screen lyrics, alarms, timers, weather, news highlights, video chats and more. Amazon says the Echo Show 5 "connects to Alexa to give you vivid visuals on a 5.5-inch screen with a crisp full sound-all in a compact design that fits in any room, in any home."

The Echo Show 5 also has a 1 x 4W speaker. It weighs just 14.5 oz (410 grams). It runs on an MediaTek MT 8163 processor.

Amazon is also bundling the Show 5 with the Ring Video Dorbell Pro. It is available in Charcoal and Sandstone. It will be released on June 26, 2019.
