Garmin Announces Vivofit Jr. Activity Tracker

Posted on October 27, 2016

Garmin has announced a new activity tracker for children called Vivofit jr. The tracker also acts a motivator to encourage kids to stay active. It tracks steps, sleep and activity. It has a one year battery life.

The tracker is a one-piece band that fits on a child's wrist. It is water resistant. It works with a free parent-controlled app that helps kids reach a 60-minute daily play goal.

Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales, says in the announcement, "We're excited to announce our first wearable just for kids – the vívofit jr. The vívofit jr. was designed with kids and parents in mind, from its durable and comfortable band to its engaging app that motivates kids to get moving, while keeping parents involved."

The vivofit jr. comes in several styles called black, broken lava, digi camo, purple strike and real flower. It will arrive in stores later this fall.

Garmin shows you to get started using the kids activity tracker in this 2 minute video.
