Posted on June 8, 2016
Jakks Pacific has launched a line of toys inspired by the upcoming film, Warcraft. The movie is based on the popular World of Warcraft online game. The movie arrives in theaters this weekend.
John Blaney, EVP Marketing, Jakks Pacific, says in a statement, "We are extremely excited to be the master toy licensee for the Warcraft movie. Our team worked closely with the filmmakers to create highly detailed figures and role play items true to the movie. Building and enhancing our extensive relationship with Legendary, we are thrilled for the launch and are looking forward to the release of the film this June."The toys include Warcraft figures ranging in size from 2.5-inches to 20-inches. There are figures for characters Durotan, Blackhand, Lothar, Medivh and more. There is also a Doomhammer weapon. The items range in price from $9.99 to $19.99.
The Warcraft franchise faces a big test this weekend with the film. It is also a big test for the gaming industry to see if an online game can lead to a movie franchise.
