Posted on August 6, 2009
Fisher-Price is releasing its Little Mommy: Walk and Giggle Doll this week. The cute doll can pick herself up off the floor and walk across the room. This is quite a feat for a doll.
Gadgetwise reports that the doll contains a processor that is as powerful as the processor that powered the Apple IIe.
The doll utters many cute phrases like "I'm tired," and "look at me." There are a total of 60 phrases. The doll also cries when it falls.
The doll comes with accessories that include a blue blanket and a wheeled puppy toy. She also has a pacifier and a baby bottle with a little bear on it.
This somewhat disturbing video below from testers at Children's Technology Review shows the doll can easily withstand multiple falls. The doll falls from a table to the floor and keep on going. She seems somewhat indestructible. Take a look:The doll retails for $69.99. It requires 6 AA batteries. There is also an African American version of the walking doll.
Note: This doll was discontinued in 2011. You can find the instruction sheets on Mattel.com.
