PancakeBot Prints Designs in Pancake Form

Posted on March 19, 2016

The PancakeBot is now available for purchase. The pancake printing machine will print your design in pancake form right on the griddle. It was on display at the 2016 Home and Housewares show.

You can load designs for printing into the PancakeBot using a SD card. The non-stick griddle is removable. The batter dispenser bottle is BPA-free. The device is 17.5-inches long, 28.5-inches tall and 13.5-inches wide. The machine also disassembles for storage. The PancakeBot site contains a number of designs available for use on the 3D printer including designs, characters, logos, famous places and more.

3D Print reports that the printer has been evolving ever since it was created by engineer Miguel Valenzuela with Legos in 2010. The printer was part of a successful Kickstarter campaign through StoreBound and is now available for pre-order. It is expected to start shipping this month. It is available in red or black and costs $299. Update: The pancake printer can also be found on Wayfair.

Here is a video of the pancake printer in action. Examples of printed pancakes in the video include an astronaut, a dinosaur, Albert Einstein and the Eiffel tower.
