Red Special Edition iPhone 7 Now Available
Posted on April 4, 2017
Apple has a new red version of its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones. The red phone is the result of a partnership with (RED). Apple has been partnering with (RED) on products for over 10 years.
Apple CEO Tim Cook says in a statement, "Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today's lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can't wait to get it into customers' hands."
The new smartphone has the same features as the other designs in the iPhone 7 lineup. It is available in 128GB and 256GB models starting at $749. It can be found on apple.com and in Apple Stores.
A portion of sales from the red smartphone will help fund HIV/AIDS programs through (Product) Red. Quartz reports that the marketing for the red iPhone 7 in China neglects to mention the charitable component of the new phone.
