Ring Unveils Always Home Cam, Flying Indoor Security Camera
Posted on September 25, 2020
Ring has unveiled the Ring Always Home Cam, which contains a drone designed for indoor flight. The drone contains a camera that records video.
Ring says the Always Home Cam works with Ring Alarm. It flies to pre-selected locations so you can check on your designated areas of concern while you are away. For example, you could use it to make sure you locked a door or turned of the oven. It would be a great boon to absent-minded individuals. You can observe the video the drone is recording using your smartphone.
Ring also says the camera only records video while the device is in flight. It makes an audible sound so you know it is flying and recording.
Ring is expected to be available in 2021. The Verge is reporting that the expected price will be $249.99.
Here's a video of the flying camera in action. It shows a goofy thief deciding against entering the home after spotting the drone.
