Posted on November 30, 2004
This year the Robosapien Robot from WowWee may be emerging as the hot toy to buy. Not only are kids interested the programmable toy robot, but geeks have been having fun hacking and programming the toy. The popular toy even made it onto the hit show comedy, the Daily Show with John Stewart. Host John Stewart displayed a graphic of Robosapien blasting last year's popular toy, Elmo, with a laser.
The robot comes with 67 pre-programmed functions including pick-up, throw, kick, sweep, dance, fart, belch, rap and kung-fu moves. The robot, which was designed by NASA scientists, can also be programmed to perform a series of commands by the owner. The robot retails for $99.
Update: The latest version of the Robosapien toy is known as Robosapien X. Here's a video from WowWee.
