BBC Shop Unveils Twelfth Doctor's Second Sonic Screwdriver

The BBC Shop has unveiled the Twelfth Doctor's Second Sonic Screwdriver. It is a toy recreation of the current Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver. The screwdriver made its debut in the episode "Hell Bent."

There have been many toy versions of the famous Sonic Screwdriver over the years. The BBC Shop says this is the first Sonic Screwdriver toy to have four light modes and four sound effects. It can be found on shop.bbc.com. It costs $29.98.

Peter Capaldi talks about the sonic screwdriver in the following video as he holds an official prop from the set. He says it has a slightly old-fashioned feel. He says he doesn't know what all of its functions are yet.
