Posted on May 12, 2016

The Vuze virtual reality camera will begin shipping this fall. The disc-shaped camera was first introduced in January when it was billed as the first 3D 360 degree camera for consumers. It features eight full HD cameras to record 360-degree footage.

The eight cameras can be used to record 4K panorama @ 30 fps. It has a video recording rate up to 120 Mbps VBR. The camera can be controlled with the iOS and Android app. Vuze also has created software for the camera for adding 3D effects, audio and titles to your Vuze footage.

TechCrunch reports that the Vuze camera was developed by an Israeli companed named HumanEyes. Vuze CEO Shahar Bin-Nu tells TechCrunch, "We are giving prosumers 3D VR capabilities without the need for Hollywood know-how or budgets." Vuze costs $799. By comparison, Nokia's high-end professional VR camera called Ozo retails for $60,000.

The Vuze Virtual Reality Kit is currently available for pre-order here on the Vuze website. This includes the Vuze camera, VR headset, mini tripod, pouch and Vuze Studio software. It costs $799 with an estimated shipping date listed as October 2016. It is available in four colors: yellow, red, black and blue.
