$32,500 Steiff Teddy Bear has a 24 Karat Nose

Posted on November 18, 2005

Macy's has announced that not only is it the World's Largest Store, but that it also is selling the world's most expensive teddy bear. The bear features a 24 karat nose, two 6 karat cabochon sapphires eyes set in 18 karat gold and surrounded by 40 diamonds totaling 1 karat.

The "125 Karat Teddy" bear is a limited edition (not surprisingly) made by Steiff. The bear comes with an anniversary book signed by Friedhelm Steiff. The teddy bear retails for $32,500.

Only 125 of the luxury teddy bears bears were made. One of the bears will be used to open the new toy shop at the Macy's flagship in Herald Square. It will be kept in a glass vitrine.
