Nike's Eric Avar Talks Kobe 9 Sneaker

Nike's Creative Director Eric Avar talked to Bloomberg about the design of the new Kobe 9 sneaker. The Kobe 9 Elite from Nike will cost $225 when it goes on sale on February 8, 2014.
Bloomberg calls Avar the "Jony Ive of Nike." Avar explains how technology is changing when it comes to not just shoe design, but design in all types of products. He says you can now design to the pixel level. The technology used to make footwear is also improving.
Avar says 3D printing and other technologies have made it "dramatically faster" to produce prototypes. Avar says he is a big believer in simplicity and he says he is inspired by nature. Take a look:
