Apple Launches Apple Watch Series 6
Posted on September 21, 2020
Apple announced the launch of Apple Watch Series 6 last week. The new watch features a new health feature. It has a blood oxygen sensor to measure your blood oxygen level.
The blood oxygen sensor shines a bright red light at your wrist and works with the Blood Oxygen app. Apple says, "Oxygen saturation, or SpO2, represents the percentage of oxygen being carried by red blood cells from the lungs to the rest of the body, and indicates how well this oxygenated blood is being delivered throughout the body."
Apple says the Series 6 uses a new dual-core processor based on A13 Bionic called the S6 SiP. It also features the U1 chip and Ultra Wideband antennas. Apple says the watch can complete a full charge in less than an hour and a half. The watch also has a more power-efficient barometric altimeter.
Apple has also released new cases and bands for the watch. The Apple Watch Series 6 (GPS) starts at $399 and Apple Watch Series 6 (GPS + Cellular) starts at $499.
