Chewbacca Star Wars Mask Sells Out After Laughing Mom's Video Virals
Posted on May 24, 2016
The Star Wars The Force Awakens Chewbacca Electronic Mask is one hot item. The popularity is all thanks to a video posted on Facebook by Texas mom Candace Payne. The likable laughing mom shared the video after purchasing the mask at Kohl's.
The video has become known as "Happy Chewbacca." It has become the most-viewed video ever on Facebook's live streaming platform with 143 million views and counting. Candace tries on the mask and shows how it makes Chewbacca's roar. Soon she is laughing with joy. In the video she exclaims, "This is worth every penny!"
The Chewbacca Electronic Mask that Candace most thoroughly enjoys is made by Hasbro. Hasbro says in its official product description, "This cool electronic mask transforms you into everyone’s favorite wookiee. Move your mouth while wearing it to activate a variety of authentic wookiee growls and howls to scare off every Stormtrooper in sight!"
The mask is powered by two AAA batteries. It has a retail price of $31.99. The mask has now sold out everyone online thanks to Candace's video.
Sales of the masks are now expected to soar so Hasbro better make more of them. Investor's Business Daily reports that Piper Jaffray predicts the viral video could fuel demand for over 1 million units of the mask. That is some viral power.
