Furbacca Furby Unveiled at 2015 New York Toy Fair
Posted on February 14, 2015
Star Wars has always been a very popular toy franchise but it is getting even bigger now that new films are on the way. Hasbro unveiled a new Star Wars Furby called Furbacca at the New York Toy Fair. The Furbacca is a combination of Chewbacca and a Furby.
The cute little Furbacca has more skills than a regular Furby. It speaks Wookie and can hum the Star Wars theme song. Mashable reports that Furby will retail for $79.99 when it arrives on store shelves this fall. By then everyone will be anxious for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, which arrives in theaters on December 18.
The new Star Wars Furby comes with an iOS and Android app so it can play virtual games. The app also lets you feed Furbacca and give him a virtual bath. Furbacca can show images of Star Wars ships, such as X-Wing Fighters, on its eyes. It has sensors on various places on its body. The sensors on its head enable it to react pleasantly to being scratched.
So far, there are not expected to be any other Star Wars characters that get transformed into Furbys - at least not for the 2015 holiday season. Here are videos of Furbacca in action at the Toy Fair. Furbacca is a very cute toy but the high price tag may prevent it from being one of the 2015 holiday's bestsellers. Take a look:
