Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2020 is Television-Only Event
Posted on September 18, 2020
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade in New York City held on the morning of Thanksgiving Day. It is known for its amazing floats, performances and giant character balloons. 2020 will be the 94th year of the parade.
This year the parade will be different because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Macy's Parade 2020 will be a television-only event.
Macy's says, "On Thursday, November 26, from 9AM to noon on NBC, we invite you to watch the Parade's signature mix of giant character balloons, floats, street performers, clowns and the heralding of the holiday season with the one and only Santa Claus!"
Here is a video from Today explaining the 2020 changes to the parade. The changes include reducing participants by 75% with social distancing. The balloons will still fly with vehicles taking over for people on foot holding onto the balloons.
