Most Popular Children's Halloween Costumes for 2012

Princess remains the top children's Halloween costume this year with 11% of the vote according to the National Retail Federation's 2012 costume survey, conducted by BIGinsight. Batman and Spider-Man have climbed up the list to take the second and third positions. The super heroes knocked witch - which was the second most popular costume choice last year - to fourth place. Disney Princess costumes came in fifth, which has its own category on the chart and indicates just how popular the overall princess category is. Here are the results of the survey. The parents of nearly 65 million children were surveyed and at the time nearly 77% of them knew what their children's Halloween costume choice would be. The results below show the costume choices of the 46,984,228 children who had already made their costume choice.
