Pucci: RTW Spring 2011

Peter Dundas talked about his inspiration for the Pucci spring 2011 ready to wear collection with Hilary Alexander. Peter has been doing the rich hippie/ 70s boho thing for awhile and this season he's found himself in the middle of a bonafide sweeping trend. But Peter has elevated the look with this spot-on collection. He went back into the Pucci archives and found the classic "nastri" or ribbon print.
Peter said that for the collection he pictured a woman who was vacationing on an Greek isle. She is wearing lots of bathing suits with sheer cover ups, fabulous floaty caftans, gorgeous blouses and hip hugging pants. This was one show where the audience was spared the horrors of both harem pants and its evil twin, high-waisted trousers. A white suit was crisp and modern and a long beaded golden sheath was truly gorgeous. Take a look:
