T.J. Maxx Relaunches Ecommerce Site

Updated March 5, 2020, originally posted on September 19, 2013

T.J. Maxx has finally returned to ecommerce several years after shutting down its ecommerce site. The new site is searchable and also has browseable tabs for women's apparel, shoes and handbags. Shoppers can also find the latest products using the "just in" tab. The site is currently offering free shipping on orders of $89 or more.

The T.J. Maxx parent company also runs Marshalls and HomeGoods. These brands are still not offering online orders. At least the T.J. Maxx brand now has a functioning e-commerce site.

The site launched without a press announcement. Michael Baker from Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. told the Boston Globe that launching tjmaxx.com happened slow because the company has been doing just fine without one. He says, "Their business has been so strong without it. There hasn't been a great urgency to launch."

Update: T.J. Maxx upgraded its website again in early 2020 with an update that included bigger product views and simplified search. You can shop the site at tjmaxx.com.
