Nielsen Says Apple iPhone Leads BlackBerry in U.S. Phone Market

A new chart from Nielsen indicates that Apple's iPhone 3G has the largest share of the mobile phone market in the U.S. with 4%. RIM's BlackBerry is a very close second with 3.7%. market. The Motorola Razr is in third with 2.3% of the market share. The LG VX9100 is fourth with 2.1%.

Top U.S. Mobile Phones in 2009
  1. Apple iPhone 3G - 4%
  2. RIM BlackBerry - 3.7%
  3. Motorola Razr - 2.3%
  4. LG VX9110 - 2.1%

Ars Technica reports that Apple is also in the top 10 of the most accessed brands over mobile phones.

RIM Still Dominate

Update: RCRWireless reports that a study from Forrester Research has found RIM still dominated with three of the five top selling smartphones in 2009. Smartphone using is soaring jumping 7% of U.S. adults during 2008 to 17% by the end of 2009.
