Betty Crocker Launches Krispy Kreme Cake Mix

Posted on June 23, 2016

Betty Crocker has launched a Krispy Kreme cake mix. The cake mix uses the flavor of Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnuts. It is a mix for yellow cake with the Krispy Kreme glaze to top off the cake.

Tony Thompson, President and CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, says in the announcement, "Our fans are always trying to re-create Krispy Kreme Doughnuts' classic glaze at home. With this kit, they don't have to try anymore. Now they can really do it. We're excited to be able to bring this item to shelves and allow customers to have the iconic flavor of our sweet treats at home."

The cake mix will be sold in select Wal-Mart, Supervalu and Kroger stores. The cake mix has 200 calories, 27 grams of sugar and 42 grams of carbohydrates per serving size (1/9 of a package).

This appears to have been a limited-time product. Betty Crocker recommends trying the Jelly Doughnut BUndt Cake mix in a tweet for those missing the Krispy Kreme mix.
