New Jelly Belly Beanboozled Collection Will Fool You Into Tasting Awful Flavors

Posted on October 19, 2009

Jelly Belly has a launched a new collection of jelly belly flavors called Beanboozled. They include some truly horrible new flavors including rotten egg, skunk spray, barf, moldy cheese, baby wipes and centipede. The BeanBoozled collection also includes some tasty flavors but they have the same coloring as the yucky flavors. For example, you might eat what you think it is a chocolate pudding Jelly Belly only to find that it taste like canned dog food.

Jelly Belly told AdWeek that it is meant as a gag gift and it goes along with Halloween because it can be a trick or a treat.

"It's a fun gag gift, a novelty item, a little off the normal path," said Jason Marrone, Jelly-Belly's e-commerce marketing manager. "It goes along with Halloween because it's trick or treat, you really don' know if it's going to be a weird gag flavor or a treat."

The Beenboozled line is sold in a small tin. Word to the wise: be cautious of any Jelly Bellys you receive this Halloween.

Update: Jelly Belly continues to update the Beanboozled line which are sold on jellybelly.com. Here's a video about the BeanBoozled 5th Edition which includes tasty flavors like Toasted Marshmallow and Birthday Cake and disgusting flavors like Stink Bug and Dirty Dishwasher.
