Green Army Women Toys Are Ready for Duty

Posted on August 17, 2022

Green Army Women toys are ready for duty. The BMC Plastic Army Women toy set was created after they received a letter from a young girl asking why there were no female soldiers.

Good Morning America says Vivian Lord, a second grade student, wrote to several toymakers and Jeff Imel, the president of BMC Toys in Scranton, Pennsylvania, was the only toymaker to respond. The GMA story also has a copy of Vivian's letter. Her letter included the great question, "Why do you not make Girl army men my friends mom is in the army to!!"

The 36 piece set features 22 different poses. There is also a working dog and a stretch accessory. The women soldiers include Pathfinder Captain, Combat Pathfinder Captain, Standing Rifleman, Kneeling Rifleman, Prone Rifleman, Kneeling Sharpshooter, Prone Sharpshooter, Advancing with Bayonet, Grenadier, Bazooka Operator, Running Riflemen, Combat Medic, Low Crawling, Radio Operator, Wounded Soldier, Light Machine Gunner, Nurse, Corpsman and Mechanic.

BMC says the toys are made from made from slightly flexible OD Green color LDPE Plastic and stand up to 2.1 inches tall.

The set can be found on BMC Toys and Amazon.com.
