Apple Unveils New MacBook Line

Apple unveiled a new MacBook line Monday at a press event that also included the introduction of the Apple Watch. Apple says its new MacBooks are its thinnest and lightest ever.

The notebooks weigh two pounds and are 13.1 mm thin, which is 24% thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air. They have a 12-inch Retina display and a full-sized keyboard. Apple says the 0.88 mm thin Retina display is the thinnest display ever on a Mac. The notebooks also feature a compact USB-C port. They are available in aluminum finishes in gold, silver and space gray.

The new notebooks will start shipping on Friday, April 10. Prices will start at $1,299 for a 1.1 GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor, 8GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage. The new MacBook with a 1.2 Ghz Intel Core M processor, 8GB of memory and 512GB of flash storage will start at $1,599.
