Posted on October 8, 2014

Kids often want to dress up as characters from their favorite movies for Halloween. Halloween 2014 is no exception with costumes from Disney's popular Frozen film among the top costume choices. Superheroes like Spider-Man, Batman and Super-Man are also popular choices. An Elsa costume from the Disney Store is pictured above.

The National Retail Federation conducts an annual survey to see what kids want to be for Halloween. The survey, conducted by Prosper Insights and Analytics, found that 2.6 million kids want to be one of the characters from Frozen. 1.8 million want to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. The most popular choice overall was princess again this year. Princess also topped last year's list of top kids' costumes from the NRF. Princess was followed by animal costumes and Spider-Man. Here is the top ten list from the NRF.

  1. Princess
  2. Animal
  3. Spider-Man
  4. Frozen Character
  5. Action/Super Hero
  6. Batman Character
  7. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle
  8. Witch
  9. Pirate
  10. Superman

Yahoo also shared a list compiled from queries within Yahoo Search. Frozen topped Yahoo's list, followed by Star Wars, Monster High and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A boys Leonardo costume from Party City is pictured above.

Captain America came in fifth on Yahoo's list and Guardians of the Galaxy came in 8th. Based on these two lists there should be lots of little kids dressed as Disney, DC Comics and Marvel characters this Halloween.
