IKEA Launches a Bike Called the Slaada

Posted on April 18, 2016

IKEA has added a bicycle to its product offerings. The bike is called the Slaada. IKEA says the bike is rust and oil free and has a long-lasting belt drive. IKEA is also offering accessories for the bike.

IKEA says in a press release that the bike is almost like a tablet in that it has several accessories to make life easier for the owner. The company also says it is a great alternative to a car because it is more sustainable. The Slaada was designed by Oskar Juhlin, Jan Puranen and Kristian Eke from the Veryday design studio.

The Telegraph reports that the Slaada is unisex and will be sold in just one color and two sizes. Some of the Slaada accessories will include a bicycle trailer, racks and a bike bag.

The Telegraph says the bike will retail for £450, which is about $642 U.S. It is not known when it will be available at IKEA stores in the U.S.
