Crocs Join the Mickey Mouse Club
Posted on December 4, 2006
Disney is very happy with the deal it just made with Crocs. Disney Consumer Products has announced plans to expand the Disney by Crocs footwear line to six continents at select retail locations in Latin America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Japan, the Middle East and South Africa. Which is wonderful news, really. It means that no matter where Jared Leto travels in the world, he can rest assured that a local source of Crocs will be nearby. A few new styles are available for this Holiday season; the full scale product launch will be in Spring 2007.
The Disney by Crocs line will debut with Mickey Mouse die-cut Adult Beach and Kid's Cayman models. Other models will include designs based on characters from Mickey and Friends, Winnie the Pooh and Friends, Disney Princess, Disney Fairies, as well as Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story and Cars.
We like the Mickey Mouse crocs. But we've been wondering about something. The little holes on the shoes are shaped like Mickey Mouse's head, right? Which means that you absolutely can't put any Jibbitz on them. So does this mean that Disney wouldn't cut a deal with Jibbitz? Or is Disney going into the Jibbitz business for itself? (Note: There are now Crocs Jibbitz as well).
You can find all the latest Disney Crocs shoes and Jibbitz on Crocs.com.
