Hasbro Unveils New Furby for 25th Anniversary

Hasbro is releasing a new version of its Furby toy to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The new interactive Furby toy will arrive in toy stores on July 15, 2023. It will be available in Purple and Coral color styles.

The Furby features 5 voice activated modes, over 600 responses and ten songs. It responds with lights and sounds. It has five commands that include Dance Party, Copy Cat, Tell My Fortune, Let's Chill and Lightshow. Hasbro says the new Furby also responds to hugs, pats, belly tickles and shaking. It has a Pizza Charm it feeds on and a furhawk that can be combed. There are also clip-on beads and other fashion accessories for Furby.

Kristin McKay, vp and general manager, Hasbro fashion & preschool, says in the announcement, "Over the past few years, we’ve done a lot of research to understand what kids would want to see in a new Furby. Through this research, kids told us that it was important for Furby to be their ultimate best friend – a furry companion to do all the things a BFF would do, like dance to music, share fortunes, meditate, mimic each other in silly voices, and even put on a light show, and that's exactly what we created."

The new Furby will be released on July 15, 2023. It will have a retail price of $69.99.
