The Hunger Games' District 12 is Up for Sale

Posted on April 13, 2012

Would you like to own District 12 in the country of Panem? It's for sale. Wade Shepard is selling the tiny town of Henry River Mill Village, North Carolina, which was used as the set for Katnis Everdeen's home in the hit film The Hunger Games.

Wade says he is selling because of his age. He says he does plan to live to be 100 or 120 though. The town was a cotton mill village until the mid 1960s. He has owned the property since 1975. There are 20 + buildings and more than 70 acres. He said he allowed the movie producers to blow up one of the buildings for the film.

We have to wonder: if the town gets sold, will the studio still be able to use the set for the next film, which begins shooting in the fall? We certainly hope so. Take a look:
